Exam Owners

Exam owners are organisations that own the intellectual property for a high-stakes test, assessment, or exam.

Many are subject to regulation, or are ultimately owned by the government.

You might see them called 'Awarding Bodies', which is a term used by England's exam regulator, Ofqual.

Other exam owners such as universities or medical colleges have their sector-specific regulators. And some are subject to no regulation at all!

It's a confidence thing.

Read my blog on how exam owners manage dual-sourcing, item banks, and managing delivery centres.
